Marriage in USA, seeking divorce in India?

I want to know the process of getting a divorce in India when Marriage is registered in USA. Marriage is not registered in India. We are going to get a divorce by mutual consent. Is the option of getting the divorce papers notarized enough or having a court doent is compulsory.
