Will workmans comp cover me?

ok at my job i was injured when my wrist was snapped backwards by a tree, four ppl saw it happen, including a foreman. he told me just to baby it unless it hurt real bad in which case i should go in to the doctor. well it wasn't that bad, i quit the job to pursue another for better money, and the wrist has progressively gotten much worse. it's been about 3 weeks since the injury, will workmans comp still cover it or am i screwed?
