I need help troubleshooting the installation of a second hard drive (one is IDE, two is SATA).?

i would disconnect the ide cable, and also try the sata cable on a different connection on the motherboard, since if it doesnt detect in the BIOS, then it possible the drive could be faulty, does it sound like the drive is spinning when you turn on the machine.
