What technological innovations can we attribute to socialism?

I am entirely on your side, AND I should say that your thesis holds water. However, the Soviets did make SOME tech innovations of their own. The example that jumps most easily to mind is their Space program was ahead of ours for quite awhile. Now they had apalling numbers of accidents that they covered up and we have since found out about, but they were scoring first after first when our space program was struggling to get going.
