The lettering looks great! The meaning why you want it done is very symbolic and it means a lot to you. Now you have to decide the aesthetic side of it (the placement of the tattoo) and how it would look on your body years from now and whether you'll still like it then. I guess it's entirely up to you. The fact that you're still alive is a blessing. You need to appreciate life no matter how bad things may seem. Things will always get better and your outlook on life will change, more wisdom as you get older. Take Care!
