Could you bring a violin on-board on Cathay Pacific?

I know that my violin case is oversize. It's 32in x 11in. x 6.5in. I seriously don't want my violin to be thrown around (and I'm not rich enough to buy another seat for my violin) . I did try to contact them via e-mail, but haven't reply back.Oh, and I will be flying in a Boeing 777-300 in economy cl (coach). Any advise?
