Why is it so difficult to bridge the gap between the es?

We both want essentially the same thing, at least initially. Isn't this fair to say? Of course under ideal cirstances we all want more than we are worthy of- to what extent does this make otherwise good genes susceptible to an under handed domination of by the merely horny and good looking- as they are almost always a genetic aberration in an otherwise, -ugly family
